about

This release continues mixing beats and racket like the workout tape (9) processed with the sentiment of the Christmas record (X). I got a 70s Sho-Bud Maverick pedal steel for Christmas and it is hard not to use it on everything.

“This Is How We Stack Folding Chairs” was muttered while moving haphazardly stacked folding chairs to get to the Wurlitzer. It draws off a great meme: "Trying to impress the ladies at church like" with a guy attempting to carry a lot of chairs at once, as well as a recognition that I end up moving a lot of chairs more often than I realize.

"Eniac Rumpus Mode" started as a celestial meditation and then I picked up a copy of The The's SOUL MINING and the percussion solo in "Giant" made me reconnect with the rapturous joy of a drum machine cutting loose.

“In Heavy Syrup” arose after working on the pedal steel for an afternoon until I was seasick. I came up with the little piano melody and thought: pedal steel! Its gravity is inescapable.

"Hangover in G" came from what you think it came from. It sounds like the Ventures in quicksand.
