about

These songs continue the threads of the previous Museumgoer releases, impulsively adding incidental sounds to the mix.

"Birdlike" remained untitled and unsure of its direction until I listened to it outside with birds chirping overhead. I hit record and included them as unwitting guest vocalists who then gave the song its life.

"Fabricare at Dusk" started as my playing around with a concertina in my kitchen as the dryer rumbled and the sad tone made me think of the Magdalene Laundries in Ireland and the rundown laundromat near my studio, for which the piece is named.

"Anton Dreams of Coke Machines" - The atonal music of Anton Webern always makes me daydream. This homage brought back being in the basement of a building in college at night with the echoey hum of Coke machines as the only sound.

"Precise Weight of the Soul" was inspired by a soul record that started skipping while I was listening to in the shower. At first I felt a panic, wanting to fix it and then a gradual acquiescence to the rhythm as it disappeared against the sound of the shower. I thought this might be what leaving your body might be like.
